Lagarde Extra Brut: a sparkling wine to pair with food

Our new sparkling wine, Lagarde Extra Brut, is a blend produced following the charmat method that spends six months in contact with its lees. The result is an exceptionally elegant and soft Charmat Lungo with a long and smooth persistence.

Following the vision of Sofía and Lucila Pescarmona, the sisters who lead Bodega Lagarde, our winemaking team gave life to a fresh and subtle sparkling wine, which we suggest yo enjoy as an aperitif or during a tasty brunch. For those who love cooking, this novelty is a great ally to drink while cooking or to pair with those dishes that you enjoy the most.

Lagarde Extra Brut is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Semillón with grapes coming from the family owned estates we have in different locations of Luján de Cuyo (Gran Mendoza) and Vista Flores, in Tunuyán (Uco Valley). As for its production, the second fermentation, that is to say the taking of foam, is carried out in stainless steel tanks, where the yeasts are suspended and in contact with the liquid long enough for a lysis of those yeasts to occur, which brings complexity in aromas and flavors.

"Our sparkling wines have always been very traditional, but with Lagarde Extra Brut we renewed the range with a product that is modern but still maintans the elegance that characterizes our creations", explained Sofía Pescarmona, CEO and co-owner of Lagarde.

Juan Roby, our winemaker, added: “With this sparkling wine, we chose a longer charmat method to add complexity and elegance, maintaining the freshness of the fruit and flowers. This process allowed us to obtain very delicate bubbles and very creamy sensations in the mouth”.
