Lagarde introduces its first range of organic wines
Since its foundation, Lagarde Winery has cared for the environment, seeking to reduce the environmental impact it exerts on the Earth. Reaffirming this commitment, Lagarde presents a new line of one hundred percent organic wines, named Lagarde Organic, and certified by the International Farming Organization (OIA), pioneer in certification that is highly recognized for its international trajectory.
In this first stage, the range has two wines: Lagarde Organic Malbec, a one hundred percent varietal, and a Rosé made of Semillón and Malbec. They are both seductive, honest and elegant wines with hardly any intervention in their winemaking processes in order to preserve their freshness and natural identity.
Precisely, the slogan that accompanies this new line is "Naturally Elegant", uniting the tradition and history of Lagarde with the strong and feminine imprint of the sisters who lead the project (Sofía and Lucila Pescarmona), who are the third generation vintners of their family.
"We have always thought earth is the raw material par excellence and our main source of work. In each bottle, we honor what nature offers us. Our goal is to generate a long-term development and hope that the next generations continues our legacy", explained Sofía Pescarmona, CEO of Bodega Lagarde, about Lagarde Organic.
The grapes with which these wines were produced come from a century old vineyard in Mayor Drummond, in Luján de Cuyo, where the winery is located. There, we always worked sustainably, but in 2015 the official process to certify the vineyards (planted in 1906) began.
"With these wines, we seek to respect and highlight the varietal typicity and natural personality of the grapes from our most emblematic terroir", added Juan Roby, Lagarde’s winemaker.
Lagarde Organic Rosé 2018 is the first wine of the range to go on the market and will be available from September in wine shops and specialized stores throughout Argentina and several other countries. Its suggested price is USD 17. Meanwhile, Lagarde Organic Malbec 2018 will be available starting this December.
